There are four test methods for the grounding conductor continuity tester:
The first: the multimeter measurement method. Use a multimeter to measure whether there is a resistance value between the grounding lead and the grounding grid or between the adjacent equipment. If there is a resistance value, you must subtract the lead resistance, and the measured value is obtained after subtraction. This method is simpler and easier to measure, but the data is less precise.
The second method: the ground shaking table measurement method. This method is similar to the multimeter measurement method, but more effective.
The third type: measure the grounding impedance of the grounding grid. Everyone needs to connect the down line from all the power equipment. After the connection, the corresponding measured ground impedance value is tested and compared. The larger impedance value is the poor contact. We generally do not choose to use this measurement method, because this method is generally labor-intensive and time-consuming, the accuracy of the calculated data is not high, and the realization possibility is not easy, so it is rarely measured by this method.
The fourth type: special instrument measurement method. The continuity measuring instrument is specially made by using the principle of double bridge. With this instrument, the influence of lead wires and contact resistance can be largely eliminated. The measured data is also accurate and effective, and because the method is simple, the loss of manpower is relatively small. It is a widely used measurement method at present. The grounding and down-conducting continuity tester currently being used has high accuracy and resolution, and the detection effectiveness is also good.
